Moving to Atlanta
If I've done this right, I've finally fixed my blog and I can blog this entry from the Newark Airport.
Katie and I are on our way to Atlanta to live tonight. I suppose you go everywhere to live, but we're straight up moving to the ATL. It's been a sweatless move thus far. A moving company came and picked up our stuff from our Harlem apartment and from storage. We then waved goodbye to the moving truck. This was two night ago. Last night we bid farewell to all our NYC friends during a swell shin-dig hosted by some native Atlantans Matt and Betsy Bird.
I've been asked a million times this week if I'm excited, or nervous, or some other such emotion about the move, and my answer is still, I don't know. It's weird. I'm just surfing a wave here. I'm sure that this is the right thing to do though. I have faith in my wife's abilities to inject some love and good in the world, and she's been offered an amazing job in which she can do just that. I'll have some time to write coming up, and I'm praying for the strength to have the discipline to do just that. It's about friggin time!
It is beautiful here today in NYC. Sunny and crisp. I hear it's much the same down in Atlanta. I look forward to it. Many big plans once we arrive. Hopefully I'll be a bit better about writing about it. Probably will. I re-designed the look of the website, but of you're reading this, you already know this.
Before I leave, before our plane's wheels leave the New Jersey asphalt, I'll be thinking of our journey together thus far and all of the amazing people we know in NYC. So many great relationships and lots of love. We're very lucky that way. Here's a picture I just took of Katie catching up on some episodes of "Lost" before our flight leaves.
Here we go!
