IRNE Award 2008

Hi everyone -

I've been a total flake when it comes to updating this blog. In the past few months I've had many adventures. Been to Palestine/Israel and made a film about it. IT can be seen HERE.

I'm having a ton of fun facing the challenges of filmmaking. It's a growing addiction...

Also, last week I won the Independant Reviewers of New England (IRNE) award for best composer/sound designer for my work on New Rep's production of "A Streetcar Named Desire." I won this award in 2004 as well and it's a huge compliment to be recognized along with the rest of the amazing artists who were both nominated and won. Streetcar also won for Best Supporting Actor, Best Set Design, Best Actress, Best Director AND Best Non-Musical Production. Pretty amazing!

Anyhow, here's a little bit of the score to jog your memory.

Hopefully, I'll be less of a flake and write more soon. Til then, H

Another Year

We've only just begun... I think that was a song at one time, but it's a great lyric for my life at the moment. I've had an amazing first 11 days of 2008 thus far. Starting out by visiting my parents in Logan, Utah. WOW! What a winter wonderland Logan is. Way more fun than Tucson in the winter. Now, in the midst of finishing up some dormant projects that have been hanging over my head, Katie and I have received news that we're going to be part of an amazing relationship building trip to the Holy Land next month. Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. I'm also going to be making another film about it.

Stay tuned...

December Projects

Everything is Adventy here at the Givens Kime household. We put up the tree yesterday and hung the mistletoe. I'm working on a few films at the moment which I hope will be up on this site soon, but that all depends on how busy Advent keeps us. There could be far worse things in life. Katie and i are very thankful!

Music for new spot!

Here's a spot I just completed for Traveler's Aid of Metro Atlanta. I wrote the music, and again worked with Steven Lane and Rob Broadfoot, the wizards at Chair 74.
